An unidentified woman was
reportedly killed yesterday at
Yan Robobi in Kofar Wambaimarket by an angry mob, who
accused her of blasphemy
against Prophet Mohammed.
The incident was said to have
happened when the market
was preparing to close for the
day’s business.

wares, was in the company of
her husband when she was
brutally murdered, after
being accused of blasphemy
against Prophet Mohammed
during a religious argument,
which ensued within the
market.
After the argument, some
youths armed with dangerous
weapons were said to have
attacked and slit the woman’s
throat to the chagrin of other
traders in the market. It was
also learnt that the remains
of the woman had been
deposited at the morgue,
while investigation is in
progress.

incident, noted that the
woman did not belong to any
association in the market,
making it difficult for any of
the traders to contact
security operatives to avert
the disaster before she was
eventually hacked to death by
the angry mob, but assured
that investigations were going
on and the perpetrators would
be brought to book.

Emmanuel, a 24 year old
trader based in Pandogari,
Rafi LGA of Niger State was
attacked and killed by a mob
in the town on allegation of
posting a blasphemous
statement about Prophet. The
riot led the army to impose a
dusk to dawn curfew in the
town.
